Broker Showcase – Harald Grant

HRES: How did you get your start in Real Estate?
HG: When Sotheby’s International Realty was opening in Southampton in 1986, I was one of the first-hired sales agents. I’ve been here ever since.

HRES: What is your business philosophy?
HG: Always be working; always be available to customers and clients 24/7.

HRES: What’s selling?
HG: New build and waterfront properties, without a doubt. The biggest prices are for new builds that ARE waterfronts, and the sellers are getting close to or their asking prices for those trophy properties.

HRES: Tell us about you…favorite food, movie & song of all time?
HG: Nothing beats a good steak at Bobby Van’s or a wonderful pasta dish at St. Ambroeus. I’m a huge Errol Flynn fan, and my first pick of his films would be “Captain Blood.” As for songs, really, any tune sung by Frank Sinatra.

HRES: Bragging rights.  Tell us about one of your current listings?
HG: I’m fortunate to represent the owners of many world-class waterfront estates. I have seen some incredible views over the decades, but the western sunset from the bluffs at the Angel View estate in North Haven, Sag Harbor has the power to make me stop in my tracks. Each of the world-class estates I represent on Mecox Bay offers a special view, something unique, something that cannot be replicated easily. It is well known, but the light across the land and water in the Hamptons is without equal.

HRES: You are now the owner of a beautiful new yacht, What did you name it?
HG: Yes, I am. Sailing is the one real perk I allow myself in the warm weather months. She’s called Summerwind.

HRES: If you could have one super human power, what would it be?
HG: If I could exist without the need for sleep, well that would be something. That would be great!326-328-332 Cobb Rd, Water Mill, NY

HRES: What is your favorite season in the Hamptons and why?
HG: Even when our winters are sometimes very cold and feel like they will never end, I do like all four seasons. The warmer months offer so many outdoor activities, and I love warm weather, but the changing seasons sometimes help me to appreciate life in the Hamptons all year long.
