Local Couple Lists Their Century-Old Southampton Village Home for $3.85M

A local couple with ties to the community has listed their restored century-old home in south-of-the-highway Southampton village for $3.85 million. Located at 127 Toylsome Lane, the shingle style residence from 1910 offers 2,500 square feet of living space, three bedrooms, and two and a half bathrooms on a quarter-acre of land.

The sellers are Paul Travis and Mark Fichandler. Travis is currently the Chair of the Southampton Village Planning Commission and has been key in helping to revise zoning codes and planning issues in the village, while Fichandler previously worked as a documentary producer for National Geographic and Court TV and even owns his own production company. Fichandler also helped to conceive and co-chair the Southampton Arts’ Center’s inaugural Architecture and Design Tour, which showed the homes of notable architect Stanford White.

The couple has recently purchased a home on the west coast in Palm Springs, California, where they plan on spending their winters.

Updates have been made to the home, including a private second-story hot tub off the master bathroom, a full basement, and professional landscaping that helps to keep the deer off the property and acts as a fence for family pets. There’s also a two-car garage, a wood-burning fireplace, and French doors inside.

“While we will certainly miss the stroll to the ocean with our Cairn Terriers Jack and Charlie, and the beautiful gardens that we have created over the last 25 years we’ve been in this house, we feel it’s time to find something a bit smaller” says Fichandler.  

Homeowners will be located less than a mile from Southampton village shops and restaurants, and a 10-minute walk from the ocean at Little Plains Beach.
