It’s almost time for Miami Art Week to descend upon Miami, promising its signature whirlwind of contemporary artwork, celebrity sightings, and exclusive parties. The two-day Art Basel Miami Beach art fair at the Miami Beach Convention Center kicks off the celebratory week, and the real magic of Miami Art Week is spread out throughout the city’s most vibrant districts. From the large-scale events in Downtown Miami and intimate galleries in Wynwood to the chic satellite fairs dotting Miami Beach, each neighborhood offers a unique flavor. This guide is your curated compass, breaking down the essential happenings, neighborhood by neighborhood, ensuring you find the best art, events, and vibes at Miami Art Week 2025.

The Miami Beach Convention Center will once again host the two-day Art Basel Miami Beach from December 5-7, featuring works of modern and contemporary art. The fair is divided into eight different sectors with different focuses. The main ‘Galleries’ sector features art from leading international modern and contemporary art galleries exhibiting artwork by artists ranging from young talents to 20th-century masters. Other sectors include ‘Meridians’ for large-scale projects and ‘Magazines’ where art editors and publishers display international art publications. Invite only private VIP shows begin on December 3.

The Betsy Hotel on Miami Beach will celebrate local and international musicians with a series of performances at The Piano Bar from 6-11 pm on December 2nd – 7th. All performances are free and open to the public.

On Friday, December 5th, from 6-9 p.m., Visu Contemporary in the heart of South Beach presents the grand opening night of ‘Vanishing Act’, a landmark exhibition from world-renowned photographer David LaChapelle. The exhibit will feature 30 significant photographs from his career, along with the world premiere of nine new works. 

The Goodtime Hotel will present ‘borderline’, a curated collection of art featuring 11 South Florida-based artists working across a variety of mediums, including painting, photography, sculpture, and ceramics. The collection will remain open daily from November 21 – December 8, and viewing hours are from 11 am to 6 pm. 

The Aqua Hotel will host Aqua Art Miami from December 3-7. This art fair showcases young, emerging, and mid-career artists, utilizing the classic hotel’s intimate exhibition rooms and courtyard as unique display spaces.

Design Miami returns for its 21st year, and the art show is dedicated to showcasing historical and contemporary furniture, lighting, textiles, and art from leading international galleries. The show will be held December 2 – 7 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. 

SCOPE Miami Beach takes place December 2-7 in its Ocean Drive pavilion, and focuses on innovative contemporary art, music, tech, and design. The large-scale show is renowned for featuring immersive exhibits and highlighting emerging artists and galleries.

Wynwood 


Experience ART ACCESS, an all-day art and sound takeover at Arlo Wynwood on Saturday, December 6. Start with the relaxed ‘Coffee & Beats’, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring espresso and art browsing. From 3 p.m. until midnight, the Higher Ground Courtyard hosts an ‘Afro House Happy Hour & Sunset Sessions’ with global DJs. Inside, the Nostalgia Lounge offers interactive art installations.

Private Gallery, an extension of the Museum of Graffiti, will present Las Bandidas, a show by Cuban-American artist Gabriela Noelle. The exhibit features Noelle’s signature hand-dyed textile sculptures and new crocheted works created in collaboration with artist Caitlin Farradas. Noelle will also present a series of works on Amate, a bark paper, honoring a sacred form of documentation dating back to Mayan times. The exhibit will be on display through December 30th, and the gallery hours are daily, 11 AM – 6 PM, or by appointment.

Taking place at Mana Wynwood, Red Dot Miami is one of the leading satellite fairs. Visitors can discover a diverse range of contemporary art, including paintings, sculptures, photography, and mixed-media works. Its sister fair, Spectrum Miami, provides the opportunity to connect with blue-chip galleries and emerging artists, all in one place. Both fairs run from December 3-7.

PhotoMiami is Miami Art Week’s only show dedicated solely to photography. On December 5 -7, from noon to 8 p.m., enjoy seminars and photographic exhibits featuring over 30 photographers at the Miami Art Week Gallery in Wynwood. 

Downtown Miami 


Art Miami, Miami’s original and longest-running art fair, will kick off with a VIP Preview on December 2nd. After that, the fair will open to the public until December 7. Set in Downtown Miami at the waterfront One Herald Plaza, the show features solo shows and engaging installations presented by highly respected international and contemporary art galleries.

Art Miami’s sister fair, CONTEXT Art Miami, is a celebration of rising and mid-career artists, also held at One Herald Plaza in Downtown Miami from December 2-7. CONTEXT Art Miami champions emerging and mid-career artists, serving as a platform to connect creators, galleries, and collectors while spotlighting cutting-edge contemporary talent.

From December 2-6, NADA (New Art Dealers Alliance) Miami will feature the best of contemporary art at Ice Palace Studios in Downtown Miami. This year’s roster includes nearly 140 galleries, art spaces, and nonprofit organizations from 30 countries and 65 cities, all under one roof.
