Resting on a 1.4-acre lot in the heart of Bridgehampton South, the home is surrounded by mature trees from the 1800s that offer incredible privacy.
The main home boasts 11,200+/- sq. ft. of living space over three levels, including 8 spacious bedrooms, 9 full and 3 half bathrooms, and an impressive great room with a dual-sided fireplace composed of white Italian marble, 22 ft. ceilings and an 80 ft. architectural glass wall allowing for abundant natural light. The chef’s kitchen featuring Ciuffo Cabinetry is equipped with top-of-the-line appliances.
The finished lower level is perfect for entertaining with a large recreation area, bar, full gym, and multi-level screening room. HRES: Martha, what an impressive newly built home and in such a great location! What more can you tell us about this property, and why it’s so appealing?
MG: This property has all the bells and whistles for today’s lifestyle. It is very pleasing architecturally – the inside has great scale, and the finishes are very high-end with no expense spared. Some of the details one would appreciate are not obvious, like the retractable hidden screens for indoor/outdoor living around the porch, radiant heat in the primary bathroom and garage, surround sound speakers throughout, flush outlets, and heated Toto Neorest toilets, plus an elevator servicing all three levels.
HRES: What type of buyer do you see for this home? Is it a good investment in today’s market?
MG: The buyer will be someone who appreciates new amenities and understands it is timeless. This property is so unique and beautiful everyone will appreciate it, especially those who like artwork or want a great house to showcase their art. The taste level is a step beyond the norm, which leads to the fact that it is a great investment to live in and enjoy.
HRES: Anything more you would like our readers to know about this property?
PB: I think the buyer needs to know that to replace this home and all its fine attributes, the cost of the land and the building costs would equal the asking price, plus two years of time. If you want quality, taste and a turnkey investment, this is the home for you!
HRES: Christopher, what was your inspiration for building a Modern style home of this grandeur with over 11,000 sq ft of living space?
CP: We always start each new project by combining architecture, layout and location in a package that is appealing to buyers. Of course making it contextual with the surrounding homes adds an additional dimension to the challenge. We felt that what fit best on a historic street like Sagaponack Road was a shingle-style home with large modern windows and airy rooms. That combination yielded incredible interior light and beautiful exterior view corridors.
HRES: Richard, we are very impressed by the architecture (noting the 22 ft. ceilings and an 80 ft. architectural glass wall) please tell us what you loved most about designing and building a home like this.
RP: We always try to create homes where people can live the complete Hamptons lifestyle. So that means designing spaces and amenities for entertainment, relaxation and rejuvenation. 201 Sagaponack Road combines these elements in the perfect proportions with grand living and dining areas, an oversized pool and spa, full sized tennis court, dedicated lower-level recreation areas and a very Zen primary bedroom suite.
HRES: Anything unique about this property that you would like our readers to know?
CP: The 850 sq. ft. covered porch with drop-down screens is one of a kind in the Hamptons. When you walk out onto that stone terrace you can just imagine the summer dinner parties that will take place there for many years to come.
