Broker Showcase – Jane Holden

101031-7084cr

Hamptons Real Estate Showcase sits down with lifelong resident and top producer Jane Holden to talk about everything Sag Harbor.

HRES: As one of the more seasoned real estate agents in the Hamptons, what is it that sets you apart?
JH: I feel what sets me apart is the fact that I grew up in Sag Harbor and have a deep love and respect for the area.

HRES: What do you like to do in Sag Harbor…after selling real estate of course?
JH: Real estate is a seven-day all-day profession, but; when I take time off, it is to enjoy my seven grandchildren, attend and support Bay Street Theatre, join my friends at local restaurants, or just sit and relax with a good book.

HRES: As a life long resident of Sag Harbor, what makes this village special?
JH: What makes Sag Harbor special it’s an all year-round Village that is very inclusive and family oriented. When the summer crowds leave, our shops do not close up. We are also the only village on the East End that has houses of worship in the Catholic, Methodist, Episcopalian, Presbyterian, Baptist and Jewish faiths. What are now private homes were once a mosque and a meeting hall, all of which reflects our history as a Whaling Community.

HRES:The Hamptons is a unique market… would you agree and why?
JH: What makes the Hamptons unique is that you are never more than a few miles from the water and all the avenues for sport and relaxation that that offers. Local or visitor, it is natures gift for all to enjoy.

HRES: How would you describe your selling style
JH: I treat everyone the same no matter if in the low or high end of the market. I am also honest to a fault and although that has sometimes cost me a listing; in the long run, it has served me very well.

HRES: Can you tell us about one of your most notable sales?
JH: With 34 years in the business I have had many notable sales. I could not narrow it down to one or two. You’ll have to wait for the book. Of course, I’ll have to retire after I write it.

HRES: What is the most personally satisfying part of your work?
JH: I love what I do. Although this profession has the highest highs and the lowest lows, when you do the job right the rewards are amazing.
