Southampton, NY— We hope you will join Carlos Beltran, former Major League Baseball player for the Kansas City Royals, Houston Astros, New York Mets, San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Yankees, and Texas Rangers, and other former professional MLB and NFL players, for Beltran’s benefit at the Southampton Arts Center in Southampton. The event, entitled “Operation Rise Up,” is a joint effort by the Carlos Beltran Foundation and Operation International, a local charity that provides free, life-saving surgeries for people in need all over the world. All donations from the event will benefit medical outreach and continued work in Puerto Rico by the two charities to improve and rebuild the healthcare infrastructure damaged by Hurricane Maria and return it to pre-hurricane functionality. Together, the Carlos Beltran Foundation and Operation International intend to work with struggling hospitals in the hardest hit areas to provide support where it is needed the most. The event will feature Special Celebrity Guests: Jack Brewer (former NY Giant and co-host of Fox Business News), Andres Torres (Former NY Mets and San Francisco Giants World Series Champ), Jose Reyes (former NY Met), and Rohan Marley (Bob Marley’s son), Neil deGrasse Tyson (American astrophysicist, author, and science communicator), Victor Martinez (former MLB baseball designated hitter and catcher for the Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox, and Detroit Tigers), Helen Matsos (producer), Chuck Nice (stand-up comic),and more.
This event is presented by Bridgehampton Equities Founder Jason E. Zimmerman, who brings you the Bridgehampton Benefit, an annual celebrity-driven charity event. Jason E. Zimmerman, an avid philanthropist, has cultivated the Bridgehampton Benefit to promote humanitarian organizations and to help raise awareness for charitable institutions by organizing and hosting this exclusive charity event in the Hamptons. Bringing together the two incredible foundations this year, Operation International and the Carlos Beltran Foundation will help save and change as many lives as possible while aiding in the rise of Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria. Medhat Allam is a board-certified general and bariatric surgeon at Southampton, NY. He is the Chairman and a co-founder of Operation International. Dr. Allam has traveled to numerous countries in Africa, Asia and South and Central America and operated on hundreds of patients worldwide.
