Gurney’s Resorts has purchased Montauk Yacht Club & Marina Resort, making them the biggest hotel owner on the East End, with three properties in Montauk. Sources close to the deal have reported the purchase price to be close $60 million. The Yacht Club will be renamed Gurney’s Montauk Yacht Club & Resort, according to the New York Post.
The yacht club has the largest marina in the Hamptons, with large yacht capabilities, and sits on 35 acres of waterfront property, with three swimming pools and four restaurants.
The deals adds another 107 rooms to Gurney’s total – which now stands at 253 rooms in Montauk. Among its other holdings are Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa and the Residences at Gurney’s (formerly the Panoramic View).
Gurney’s is planning a $13 million facelift in November, updating all the guestrooms, ballroom and meeting areas.
