The property was last purchased in 2017, at which time it was asking $2.75 million. This time around on the market, the property sought $4.25 million. A contract was signed shortly after it was listed, but it’s not clear if the buyers are planning on having the modern home built or doing their own thing with the waterfront property. The “Savior of Central Park” Sells Her Wainscott Home for $7.4M

Elizabeth Barlow Rogers has sold her Wainscott home for $7.4 million. Barlow Rogers is known as “the Savior of Central Park”, was the first person to hold the title of Central Park Administrator, and has authored nine books. Nowadays, she is the President of the Foundation for Landscape Studies. Her Hamptons compound — located at 133 & 129 Sayres Path — came on the market for $7.8 million last year and a contract was signed in December. Earlier this week, the sale closed. The 3-acre property has similar landscape techniques that were used in Central Park, such as a walking path, a pond, and a waterfall.
