HRES Speaks with Geoff Gifkins of Nest seekers international realty
New Zealand-born Geoff Gifkins is the successful Hamptons-area Regional Manager for Nest Seekers International Realty. Upon immigrating with his family to the United States, Geoff chose to move to the Hamptons. With its beautiful beaches and open spaces, he found the Hamptons comparable to the quality of life of that of his beloved New Zealand homeland.
As in New Zealand, Geoff would soon be buying, renovating and selling homes here. It was natural, therefore, that Geoff’s passion for real estate and architecture would eventually lead him to a career in real estate. He became a Broker and soon owned his own Real Estate Agency in Water Mill.
In 2011, Geoff sold his Agency to Nest Seekers International and became the company’s Regional Manager for the Hamptons Region.
In just 2½ years, Geoff, together with Eddie Shapiro, Nest Seekers founder and CEO, has grown the Nest Seekers Regional Offices from 20 agents to 106, and has expanded from one office to five in the Hamptons region. He credits this success to the hard work of his dedicated team, as well as to the Global power of the Nest Seekers brand and the company culture of “adaptive innovative thinking”.
HRES: As a successful Broker, what is your business philosophy?
GG: Being fair and honest to all parties, which includes the buyers and sellers, as well as the co-operating brokers. Full disclosure about who you represent in the transaction and maintaining those fiduciary responsibilities at all times and sound in-depth market knowledge.
HRES: What are your predictions for Fall home sales in the Hamptons?
GG: We predict this Fall will be one of the busiest we have had in a very long time. The past summer has been extremely active and all sectors of the market are moving.
HRES: Please tell us about one of your current listings?
GG: 3 Kirks Place in East Hampton was recently reduced to 8.5m. It is a very unique estate with stunning architecture and magnificently landscaped, elegantly sitting on over 3.8 acres located in a private waterfront community with access to Northwest Harbor.
HRES: We have watched Nest Seekers grow from one office to five in a very short time, so what should we expect in 2016?
GG: We have had a very strategic systematic plan for growth since entering this market and our business has continually grown each and every quarter. We have recently expanded our Bridgehampton location, and are currently looking to expand our East Hampton location in 2016. By the end of 2016 we expect to have 150 agents onboard.
HRES: Describe your perfect weekend in the Hamptons?
GG: Naturally, a very active weekend in terms of real estate transactions for all of our offices. Then relaxing with family and friends on Sunday afternoon.
