The modern oceanfront compound at 230 & 234 Old Montauk Highway designed by architect James Biber has just sold for a little over $18 million. The 4-acre property consists of two single and separate lots, each spanning 2 acres with a stylish residence.
On one property, there’s the 5,500-square-foot main house set over three levels of living space, while a 2,400-square-foot guest house can be found directly next door. Features include wraparound porches, five fireplaces, and a heated gunite infinity edge pool. The homes were both constructed “to withstand hurricane force winds”, according to the Corcoran description.
In total, there’s 300 feet of direct ocean frontage and the property is set 75 feet above the shoreline.
The seller is investor Michael Hirtenstein, who put the house on the market for $21 million last year. Corcoran Group agent Gary DePersia represented the seller, while Robert Dankner from Prime Manhattan Residential represented the buyer in the transaction.
