Sylvester Stallone Buys His Daughters An East Hampton Home

In a notable real estate move, Sylvester Stallone, the iconic actor best known for his role in “Rocky,” is reportedly in contract for a luxurious James Michael Howard-designed estate in East Hampton for his daughters—Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet. This transaction, rumored to be an all-cash deal, was first reported by the New York Post. The residence, which recently graced the front cover of Hamptons Real Estate Showcase magazine in July, had an original asking price of $24.95 million, although the final sale price remains undisclosed as the deal has yet to close.

Stallone, along with his wife Jennifer Flavin, transitioned from Los Angeles to Palm Beach recently, while Sophia and Sistine are based in NYC, and Scarlet is currently attending college in Miami.

The estate itself, which is set on over an acre along sought-after Hither Lane, encompasses 11,644 square feet of classically inspired architecture. It boasts a grand gated entrance, eight bedrooms, 8.5 bathrooms, and a chef’s kitchen. The home is particularly noted for its comprehensive custom furnishings and intricate details, all personally designed by Howard. Describing his approach, Howard remarked, “I’m an old guy and over the years I’ve learned a lot about how to design a fabulous house. We’d planned to keep this one and so I designed it for the two of us,” indicating a no-expense-spared philosophy in its creation.

Key features of the property include a luxurious primary suite on the main floor, complete with steam shower, tub, dual walk-in closets, and a fireplace. The second level contains a junior primary suite and three en suite guest bedrooms, one offering a private balcony. The expansive lower level is designed for entertainment, featuring a recreational space, movie theater, and three additional guest bedrooms.

The outdoor space complements the interior opulence with a heated gunite pool, sun deck, spa, and a pool cabana equipped with a wood-burning fireplace, all set against a backdrop of beige madras patios and meticulously curated landscape designed by Howard and installed by Verderber’s Landscape Nursery.

The property was listed co-exclusively by Martha Gundersen and Paul Brennan of Douglas Elliman, and Gary DePersia of the Corcoran Group.

Gundersen shared that the buyers were immediately captivated by the uniqueness of the home. “There is nothing else like it,” she stated, attributing the distinctive allure to the dedication of designer James Michael Howard. According to Gundersen, Howard has outdone himself with this project, which she considers to be the pinnacle of his esteemed career in interior design. She expressed deep admiration for Howard’s meticulous approach to curating talent, particularly his selection of decorative painters from across the globe. These artists contribute to the rich, detailed work that defines Howard’s projects, ensuring that each home is singular in its beauty and craftsmanship, infused with bespoke elements that enhance its overall design” she added.
