Five Amazing Listings for over 50 Million

Georgica Manse | $85M
One of the most magnificent pieces of land on the East End, the 7-acre estate on Georgica Pond of investment banker Carl Tiedemann, who founded Tiedemann Investment Group, has just hit the market. Perched on nearly 900 feet of pond frontage, the house (to be built) will also have unobstructed south and west ocean views from every room.

The $85M price tag is nearly double its ask in 2015 of $45M. Then the price was reduced again last year to $32M before being pulled from the market. The old listing featured the existing house built in 1990 (practically an antique) by Tiedemann, who died in 2016.

The new structure, a collaboration between celebrated interior designer Steven Gambrel and high-end builder Jeffrey Collé will measure 14,000 square feet and feature seven bedrooms, 8.5 baths, gym, screening room, greenhouse, waterfront pool, tennis and formal gardens. As it is still in the planning stages, it can be modified to the buyer’s specifications. Exclusive with Lori Schiaffino of Compass.

Private Peninsula | $75M
Big price tags often come with vast acreage. Burnt Point in Wainscott is no exception. With its own 25-acre peninsula on Georgica Pond with sweeping water views on all sides, this is one of the most desirable waterfront properties on the South Fork.

Believe it or not, when it was sold to commodities trader David Campbell in 1996 it set a record at $10M. Architect Francis Fleetwood finished the gambrel roofed house in 1999 and it was put on the market the following year for $50M. In 2005 pharmaceuticals billionaire Stewart Rahr bought it for $45M, making it the most expensive house ever sold in New York State. Rahr is now selling.

According to the New York Times, “The property offers more land than anything else available in East Hampton, with 2,000 feet of frontage on Georgica Pond and views to the ocean.”

The 18,000 sf edifice contains two elevators, library with antique beams, massive stone fireplaces, and 200-year-old oak floors. The grounds include a tennis court with pavilion; pool, hot tub and waterfall and greenhouse. There’s also a dock and boat house on the 2,024-foot waterfront.
Exclusive with Frank Newbold and Marilyn Clark of Sotheby’s International Realty.

Old World Splendor | $72M
The palatial Water Mill estate known as Villa Maria has been through a clutch of the Hamptons’ top brokers from Cocoran’s Tim Davis to Sotheby’s Harald Grant since first appearing on the market in 2008 for $100M. It is now with the Vichinsky brothers of Bespoke Real Estate.

Built as a private residence in the early 20th century at the height of America’s Gilded Age, the sprawling 15-acre spread fronting Mecox Bay afterward spent nearly 75 years as a convent before being purchased in 2005 by late shoe designer Vince Camuto and his wife for $35M.

The couple spent almost as much as the purchaseprice in their five-year renovation. They employed architect Andre Tchelistcheff to oversee the gut renovation which included building a solarium with heated limestone floors connecting the main structure to the carriage house. The landscaping was designed by Edmund D. Hollander who installed an arboretum, four formal gardens and a kitchen/cutting garden.

The 20,000-foot, 28-room mansion includes a 2,700-square-foot master suite and 11 bedrooms with en-suite baths along with another full bath and four powder rooms. A three-story spiral staircase sets the grand tone. A separate 2,400-square-foot, two-story gatehouse contains two bedrooms and three baths for staff or guests. Exclusive with Zachary and Cody Vichinsky of Bespoke Real Estate.

Private Sanctuary | $65M
How often does a 32-acre waterfront compound come on the market? Let me rephrase that: How often does a 32-acre waterfront compound in Sagaponack come on the market?

Poxabogue Pond is the pond upon which this dreamy estate both sits and is named. A private road leads to woods, gloriously scenic farmland reserves, and three existing pond-front homes owned by the trio of sisters who have placed the sanctuary on the market. The siblings wanted to recreate the familial closeness their father experienced growing up in Brooklyn.

There are also three more buildable lots. After all the address is 18,20,24,32,36,40 Poxabogue Pond Road.

As the listing states: “It presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build a dream compound with old world Hamptons appeal.” Exclusive with Paul Brennan of Douglas Elliman Real Estate.
