On the Labor Day Cover…

HRES sat down with developer Kristen Farrell of Kristen Farrell & Co., along with exclusive agents Flora Veitch and Kristen Suarez of Town & Country Real Estate to find out more about this issue’s cover home.

HRES: Congratulations again on your 219 Sagg Main compound that was featured on our Memorial Day cover. We’re excited to talk with you about this new project of yours in Amagansett, currently featured on our Labor Day issue cover. Where do you get your ideas and inspiration from, can you walk us through your initial thought process?

KF: In this instance the location of the home has a huge impact on the design inspiration. As a family beach community, Amagansett has a happy, casual summer vibe. The house speaks to this lifestyle and the aesthetic follows. The style and layout of the home is open and accommodates the family’s entertaining needs.

HRES: 54 Miankoma Lane in Amgansett is beautiful and built in 2019, designed by the talented Kristen Farrell. Can you tell us some of the standout features, and what makes it so appealing?

FV & KS: We personally love the lower level, which really functions as an additional living and entertaining space. Between the high ceilings and sliding doors that open to a blue stone patio, the lower level is very inviting. The first and second floor get such incredible natural light as well, even on a rainy day, we call it the “happy house.”

HRES: What design style did you choose for this project and why?

KF: The family-centric environment we created means lots of casual living spaces and easy to clean surfaces, natural colored perennial fabrics and indoor/outdoor rugs layered with comfortable yet stylish furniture. The interior and exterior of the house feel seamless so every selection matters.

HRES: What type of buyer do you see being interested in this stunning home?

FV & KS: Someone that loves to be part of a community but also enjoys getting away and enjoying nature. The house it centrally located between the ocean beaches and the town of Amagansett. It has everything one may need.

HRES: You have mentioned previously to us that “details matter.” Can you tell us about some of the design details that went into this project and why?

KF: Simplicity in cleanable material finishes is one of the key themes along with high functioning spaces. Double dishwashers, porcelain tile and countertops, natural-colored floors all for the family style living. We also love a good outdoor firepit for summer nights!

HRES: What makes this Modern home a good investment in today’s market?

FV & KS: Easy question, it’s irreplaceable! If you are familiar with Hamptons real estate, you know the Lanes of Amagansett are special. Land value has continuously gone up, especially over the last few years and building a home with this level of finishes comes at a higher cost. Finding a done, turnkey, home in the Lanes is hard to come by.
