“I absolutely love fall in the Hamptons,” says Joey. “While summer is always fun and filled with the excitement of entertaining and work events — like this past summer’s best party, our 90-person dinner with my favorite brand, Brunello Cuccinelli — fall is filled with quality time with family and friends. I love hosting an early evening with friends and kids, cozy dinners, a night around the fire pit with marshmallows for the little ones, and wine and Manhattans for the grown-ups.”
PLAY WITH SEASONAL ELEMENTS
I love incorporating seasonal farm stand fruits and vegetables into the table décor — apples, pomegranates, pumpkins, corn, butternut squash, figs, and pears, and always plenty of flowers. No matter the season, fresh flowers are a must!
CREATE THOUGHTFUL CENTERPIECES
I recommend incorporating handmade ceramics with charming and whimsical designs to highlight seasonal harvest elements as your centerpiece. Then, layer the table with tapered candles, a linen tablecloth and napkins, elegant tableware, and, of course, plenty of flowers to add depth and bring the entire look together.
SERVE A SIGNATURE DRINK
As the weather cools down, of course the fan favorite drink is warm apple cider, which we always love to serve during the holidays at Wölffer Estate Vineyard mixed with Wölffer Brandy. Anything featuring apple, pumpkin, or ginger flavors captures the season perfectly! It’s also fun to create a drink station to make your signature cocktail a moment, and in fall you can accent the setup with mini pumpkins, garland, or other garnishes for a festive touch.

All ages are welcome to anything I host! I feel so lucky every time I have the opportunity to share a beautiful meal with my kids, husband, and friends. Family is at the heart of everything we do at Wölffer Estate, and it’s equally important in our home. The kids love to help decorate and sip on our non-alcoholic Verjus, while the adults choose their favorite Wölffer wine, and we all enjoy music, delicious food, and the cozy ambiance while we make memories.
