Nothing you need but everything you want! Southampton’s newest luxury store offering European furniture and more!
We had the pleasure of sitting down with Andrea and Torsten, the visionary owners behind Southampton’s unique concept store, Le Shop. Their store features a curated selection of exquisite European items, including furniture, candles, and small capsule collections. With Andrea’s fashion industry background and Torsten’s experience importing high-quality pool covers from Germany, they’ve created a shopping experience like no other. Inspired to bring something fresh to the Hamptons, their store embodies elegance and quality with renowned European brands, offering luxurious well priced items. Let’s delve into their journey and the unique offerings of Le Shop.
What inspired you to open a luxury furniture store, and what is your vision for Le Shop-X Riviera Maison?
The idea for opening a concept store means offering exquisite items from Europe, furniture, candles, small capsule collections. We had the idea of creating a store that doesn’t yet exist in Southampton.
Who are the exclusive designers featured in Le Shop, and how did you curate them?
Riviera Maison for Furniture and Home Accessories from Amsterdam. Baobab Candles & Diffuser from Belgium. Gabriele Frantzen for the lovely Raffia Bags, and Seidensticker Shirts & Dresses, which is a traditional Shirtmaker from Germany, Weich Couture Alpaca Company for their large pillows for cozy fireplace evenings and comfy house pajamas all made of alpaca. DPI from Germany, has the best in faux plants and flowers all made of silk and high quality plastics.
How do you ensure the quality and craftsmanship of the European furniture and accoutrements you offer?
The companies we chose are well known in Europe and are all top quality, premium level.
Can you describe some of the unique or standout pieces in your collection?
You have never seen an Alpaca collection like this before. The Baobab Candles smell wonderful even when they are not burning. The Riviera Maison Collection is so beautiful and of excellent quality but without being overpriced.
Can you share a bit about your backgrounds and what experiences led you to this point in your career?
Andrea comes from the fashion industry and Torsten is an importer of the best pool covers made in Germany. Since this store is big enough, we had the idea to also feature furniture and fashion. All according to the motto “beautiful things that nobody needs but everyone wants”. We carry an eclectic mix of items for every season and will be open all year round.
What makes your store’s selection unique, and what do you hope customers will experience when they visit?
What is unique about our store is that everything is curated from Europe, just like us. We want to sell beautiful things that are still affordable. As I said, this store has beautiful things that nobody needs but everyone wants and will enjoy.
