Broker Showcase: Harald Grant

Harald Grant is a Senior Global Real Estate Advisor and Associate Broker with Sotheby’s International Realty, which represents extraordinary real estate and features some of the most exquisite luxury properties in the Hamptons. HRES got the chance to sit down with Harald for a brief Q&A. 

Can you tell us about your selling style?
Three things about my selling style: Number one: Product knowledge – thorough. Number two:  Availability – 24/7. Number three: Honesty – constant.What has been your most notable sale?

My most noticeable sale ended up to be a three-part set of sales. I sold a customer a property in Southampton’s estate section, and then from that sale, placed a referral to our NYC office, which resulted in the sale of a city townhouse. From the same sale, I placed a referral to our Palm Beach office which resulted in a waterfront property being sold. The total sum of those three transactions was in excess of $100 million.

What is the most personally satisfying part of your work?
I am most satisfied when I am recognized and appreciated by my association with various CEOs and other “captains of industry” worldwide. I am fortunate to be working with these people on a day-to-day basis.

If your life were a motion picture, what would the title be and why?
If a movie told the story of a Norwegian child immigrant, raised by strict parents of very modest means in Brooklyn, who instilled strong family bonds – and that child, though his family unity, hard work, and perseverance, winds up doing remarkably well – well, that would tell the story of my life. I prefer classic films, so maybe, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” or one like it.

How would you describe the perfect day in the Hamptons?
My perfect day is a summer day in the Hamptons, awaking at 6 a.m., coffee, and a beach walk or run. Everything follows from that.
