With adjectives such as “majestic” and “masterful” used as descriptors, the “architectural masterpiece” is surely one of the South Fork’s most important historic houses.

The three-acre property at 199 Coppers Neck Lane was last purchased last in 2015 for $15 million, after languishing on the market from 2011 when it was listed at $20 million. A Sotheby’s listing from that time describes the house as having been “expanded to exacting standards of craftsmanship by interior designer Mark Hampton.” As that designer died in 1998, the structure is surely in need of some TLC.

And that it shall get. “The current owner has painstakingly cleared the entire interior canvas and commissioned meticulous plans by renowned architect Arthur Fraser,” reads the listing by Bespoke.

Plans can be viewed showing the potential to expand the 14,000-square-foot residence to 15,100 square feet containing 10 bedrooms, 10 full baths and three half baths. The bones of the mansion feature “soaring ceilings, sweeping staircases, charming fireplaces and floor-to-ceiling windows.”[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”normal”][vc_single_image image=”21362″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_separator type=”normal”][vc_single_image image=”21439″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_separator type=”normal”][vc_single_image image=”21364″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_separator type=”normal”][vc_single_image image=”21437″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_separator type=”normal”][vc_single_image image=”21438″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_separator type=”normal”][vc_column_text]Photos via Bespoke Real Estate[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
