Historic Ram’s Head Inn on Shelter Island lists for $9.75M

For just under $10 million, you could be the next owner of the Ram’s Head Inn on Shelter Island.

Ninety years ago, the historic property first opened its doors and welcomed visitors with picturesque west-facing water views over Coecles Harbor. The 4.3-acre commercial property includes a Colonial style manor house with 22 rentable rooms across 12,000 square feet — plus a tennis court, a regulation-sized bocce court, a deep water dock, and a gorgeous gazebo overlooking the water.

But the Ram’s Head isn’t just for visitors in need of room and board. There’s also a restaurant that can accommodate over 100 diners and both indoor and outdoor space for private events and weddings.

If the new buyer doesn’t want to continue operating the property as a commercial inn, there is a private residence conversion plan available, according to the Douglas Elliman listing. But we’re hoping that the property stays in business.
