Inter-Sections: The Architect in Conversation with Architect Juergen Riehm and Suzanne Stephens

Friday, August 24, 6 pm

Join Juergen Riehm, a co-founder of 1100 Architect, as he discusses his work at the intersection of art and architecture. Founded in 1983 from a studio in Soho, much of 1100 Architect’s early work involved commissions from artists, including Roy Lichtenstein, Jasper Johns, and Robert Mapplethorpe. This presentation will look back at those early collaborations, as well as explore the firm’s more recent work, including his prolific portfolio of residential environments, in New York and on Long Island’s East End. Riehm will be joined in conversation by Suzanne Stephens, the Deputy Editor of Architectural Record and an adjunct professor of architectural history at Barnard and Columbia College.
