Hollywood in Wainscott
Goose Creek, the 19,000 square-foot Wainscott mansion that has hosted a lion’s share of A-List celebrities is on the market for $16 million. The 5.5 acre estate, known for its Hollywood worthy 110-seat theater, has been the venue for lavish movie screenings. Among the many celebrities who stayed at the shingled home off Georgica Pond were Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Peter Bogdanovich, Marissa Berenson, Toni Colette, Kevin Costner, Beyoncé and Jay-Z. And those who attended screenings were Gwyneth Paltrow, Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul McCartney and Jerry Seinfeld. Michael Schultz and Susan Ryan of The Corcoran Group have the listing.

Villa Maria Sold
After lingering on the market for years, Water Mill’s 20,000 square-foot Villa Maria located on 15 acres, whose original asking price of $100 million had been lowered to $72 million, has been purchased for $49 million by two buyers, according to the Wall Street Journal. Built in 1887 as a private home, it was sold to the Sisters of the Order of St. Dominic for $250,000 in 1931 and was actually a high school until 1953. Purchased by Nine West founder Vincent Camuto and his wife, Louise, in 2005 for $35 million, the couple completed an ambitious 5 year renovation and put the property back on the market in 2008. Camuto died in 2015. Cody and Zachary Vichinsky of Bespoke had the listing.

Ch-Ch-Changes
Town & Country Real Estate is preparing to open an office in Greenport, which will become its North Fork flagship and eighth office on the East End. “The North Fork real estate markets are uniquely different from the Hamptons real estate markets,” says CEO Judi Desiderio. “There’s a different vibe, a different clientele, a different heartbeat.” With over 160 agents, Town & Country Real Estate is the largest independently-owned and operated real estate firm on the East End.

Don’t Block My View
Jay-Z and Beyonce have tried to stop starchitect Richard Meier from building a nearby house for his daughter Ana Meier. The superstar couple, who purchased a former Stanford White structure on East Hampton’s Georgica Pond last year, are afraid the proposed 8,325 square-foot residence will block the view from their 12,000 square-foot home, the East Hampton Star reported.

Little Piece of History
While the storied Grey Gardens was purchased last fall, its carriage house is available for $9.5 million. Built in 1896 on Apaquogue Road in East Hampton, the carriage house was originally part of the estate, but was sold in the ‘50s. The little piece of history, which has been exquisitely updated and sits on a tad more than an acre with ocean and reserve views, is being marketed for the first time in half a century. Frank Newbold and Marilyn Clark of Sotheby’s International Realty have the listing.

Power Couple
Power couple George Stephanopoulos and Ali Wentworth have put their Southampton Village estate back on the market after pulling the listing a couple of years ago. This time the former President Clinton political advisor and his actress wife are asking a million dollars less: a shade under $6 million. Just off Hill Street, the shingle-style mansion built in 2003 boasts five bedrooms including what the listing agents calls a “wondrous first floor master suite with private library.” It is represented by Ann Ciardullo and Keith Green of Sotheby’s International Realty.

Well Lit
The price of the “Window House,” a 2,800 square-foot edifice owned by architect Alfredo De Vido, has been lowered to $1,698,000 after half a year on the market.  The Northwest Woods structure sited on nearly two acres is thought to exemplify the architect’s aesthetic of “light and livability” as expressed in his book, “House Design: Art and Practice.”  The five bedroom, three bath structure boasts double-height ceilings in the living and family rooms. William Wolff of Douglas Elliman Real Estate has the listing.

The Swamp Sells
The derelict property that was once a gay nightclub in Wainscott has been purchased by the town of East Hampton. The price paid for the 1.1 acre parcel that housed the rousing disco, Swamp, more than a decade ago was $2.1 million. After demolishing the building, the town will develop plans for the property that will be announced as part of the Wainscott hamlet study and plan.

Wine Thief Nabbed
Nicolas De-Meyer, a former personal assistant to Goldman Sachs Co-President David Solomon, is accused of stealing more than $1.2 million worth of rare wine from the East Hampton cellar of his boss. The theft was originally reported to local police before the alleged thief was arrested in Los Angeles. Among the stolen wine were seven bottles totaling $133,650 from Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, considered one of the best wines in the world.

The Mooch buys in water mill
Disgraced White House communications director, Anthony Scaramucci, has purchased a new Farrell house with his wife, Deidre Ball, just weeks after they called off their divorce.  According to the New York Post, they are planning to spend lots of time in the Hamptons this summer.  The abode overlooks a reserve near the home of actor Alan Alda. The 8,300 square-foot abode at 30 Lawrence Court was asking $7.49 million, a mere drop in the bucket for the Mooch, whose net worth is estimated at $1.5 billion by Coed.com. The couple also owns a house in the North Sea Beach Colony where they held “raucous parties” last summer according to a neighbor.  Welcome to the Hamptons Mooch!
