The Whalers Lane property was listed in December 2016 at $8.75 M, but has changed hands for $5.725 M.

The 1.37-acre property is surrounded by dunes and boasts 228 feet of beach.

Besides the Seinfeld episode in which George Costanza (Jason Alexander) spends time in a cold pool before experiencing a certain “shrinkage,” the house is known for another historic tidbit: it started out as a military bunker disguised as a cottage to avoid detection by the enemy. Its concrete structure, metal doors and windows remain as a constant reminder of the area’s wartime strategic significance.

The name of the buyer has not been released. The property was listed by Greg Schmidt, Jackie Dunphy and Tom Griffith of Corcoran.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”normal”][vc_single_image image=”21455″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_separator type=”normal”][vc_single_image image=”21456″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_separator type=”normal”][vc_single_image image=”21458″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_separator type=”normal”][vc_single_image image=”21457″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_separator type=”normal”][vc_single_image image=”21459″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_separator type=”normal”][vc_column_text]
