Based on the award-winning, international best-selling novel by Tim Winton, Simon Baker’s directorial debut Breath follows two teenage boys, Pikelet and Loonie, growing up in a remote corner of the Western Australian coast. Hungry for discovery, the pair form an unlikely friendship with Sando, a mysterious older surfer and adventurer who pushes the boys to take risks that will have a lasting and profound impact on their lives. Light the Lighthouse
November 30, 4:30 pm
The Montauk Historical Society will once again adorn the Lighthouse with thousands of white lights for the holiday season. The Museum and Tower Climb will be open November 30 until 4 p.m. The Gate will open at 4:30 p.m. for the annual lighting, with lights on at approximately 5:15 p.m. The lights will remain on every night through January 5, 2020. The celebration will include holiday music and caroling. Santa has also promised to make a visit on Sunday, December 1. Pony Rides for small children.

The Englishtown Project

On September 3, 1977, The Grateful Dead headlined one of the largest and most musically successful concerts of all time at Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ. The Englishtown Project pays tribute to that famous concert, performing the music of the Dead, New Riders of the Purple Sage, and Marshall Tucker Band. Comprised of an all-star lineup featuring members of New Riders, Phil Lesh & Friends, Zen Tricksters, Hot Tuna, and more, this is the ultimate Dead experience and the closest thing to the ’77 concert that the world will ever see again.

Holiday Spectacular: East Meets West
December 6 & 7, 7 pm
This collaboration between WHBPAC’s Arts Academy and Our Fabulous Variety Show will feature over fifty student performers ages 5 to 85 alongside professional singers and dancers – creating an unforgettable celebration of the holidays! This mash-up of song, dance, and theatre will feature holiday classics and fresh takes on the season.

Owls by the Light of the Moon — Annual Foray with Joe Giunta: Adults
December 11, 7 pm
Walk Leader: Joe Giunta, birding instructor for the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and trip leader for New York City Audubon. Joe Giunta will present a brief slide show and then take you into the field to call owls in for actual sightings on this nighttime owl prowl that marks the beginning of the owls’ courtship season.
