Timeless Distinction

More and more people are flocking to Westhampton Beach, even Cameron Diaz has been rumored to have just bought a home in this quaint village. HRES sat down with Maria Cunneen to hear more on this new to market Westhampton Beach Traditional home designed by visionary architect Doug Moyer of Sag Harbor.

HRES: What makes this property special?
MC:?
The notable exterior of the home, rich with beauty in its brick facade, is an eye stopper and a local favorite. From the minute you enter, you experience the warmth of being home. It was designed with great attention to creating the ideal space for large gatherings of friends and family. The added height on its’ main level enhances its’ southern lighting from three sets of French doors and allows for the use of transom windows throughout. There’s no such thing as “too many chefs” in this, spacious, well-planned kitchen. A cozy, eat-in nook allows for even more intimate conversation. Detailed wood moulding enriches the expansive living space totaling over 5,800 square feet.

Whether you are spending quiet time building a puzzle, competing in a friendly game of pool, relaxing outside at the pool house or simply enjoying a long read of the weekend paper in the inviting, sun room (my personal favorite spot), this house is like none other in the Village. You only have to go as far as the rear terrace to enjoy yearly July 4th celebrations at the nearby Country Club; a favorite house tidbit!

HRES: Westhampton Beach is a very beautiful area, where is this home located?
MC:
Ideally located at the south, west entry into the Village and on the outer edge of the renowned, Westhampton Beach Country Club. The home sits just a stone’s throw from Main Street’s shops, playgrounds and area beaches.

HRES: Can you tell us when the house was built?
MC:
The house was constructed in 2002.

HRES: Would you consider this home a good investment, and if so, why?
MC: I do consider it a great investment, for sure. To reconstruct this quality home today, accounting for its fine craftsmanship, architectural design and current day building costs, today’s buyer would need to allocate a far greater budget for this caliber home. Timeless in it’s classic, traditional style.

HRES: Tell us a little bit about the very talented Architect Doug Moyer?
MC: Doug Moyer, best known for his thoughtful, client-oriented style, is an accomplished architect whose sphere of work involves residential, commercial and cultural projects. Doug is no stranger to earning acclaim and appearing in numerous, architectural publications. This warm, inviting home was proudly published in Home Beautiful, glorifying its many highlights. Doug was instrumental in the recent Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, as well as the Amagansett Square retail complex.

HRES: Maria, is there anything else you would like to add about this beautiful home?
MC: ?I am delighted to bring this home, a true favorite of mine, in the Village, to market. It boasts one of the most well planned designs with regard to interior flow, lighting and living space. I love its rear entry where the cushioned bench and coatrack allow you to truly settle…and arrive home, to this most special, happy place. The craftsmanship behind the walls is so impressive, so refreshing and just so very comfortable. Everything your home should offer you. I show it with great pride, as if it were my own. (I wish it was!)
