Living legend Pelé might have just sold his house in Springs, but as far as we’re concerned he’ll always be counted as one of the East End’s own.

The Brazilian soccer star, who is arguably one of the greatest players of all time and most definitely the first one we had ever heard of, bought way back in 1979 but stayed largely under the radar here until now. In September, he announced that he had launched The Pelé Foundation, partnering with the organizations Pencils of Promise and charity: water to help fund the critical needs in poverty and education for children around the world.

“It has been my lifelong dream to start a foundation to help children of the world better their lives as people in my childhood helped me to better mine,” Pelé said. “My foundation reflects the life I’ve led both on and off the field and I am looking forward to working with esteemed leaders in philanthropy to help the children of our world.”

Bravo to another icon who has made his home out here for several decades and has made a huge impact on the world. James Lipton, the inimitable “Inside the Actors Studio” host and Noyac resident, is officially retiring.

Lipton’s tenure as master-class leader and interviewer extraordinaire began in 1994 and ran for 24 years, earning a total of 19 Emmy nominations and one win. If not for him, how many of us would really have known that the question “If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?” comes from French journalist Bernard Pivot? Or get the inside scoop on the favorite curse words and various proclivities of our favorite actors?

Speaking of actors, it looks like the cast of “The Affair” is back. Most of the gang has been spotted hanging out and filming in Montauk, with the exception of Ruth Wilson, who has left the show. And contrary to those reports that Joshua Jackson won’t be returning either for season five, we’ve got the photographic evidence that puts him here with the crew and out and about in Montauk. Stay tuned for more soon. The final season, set to air next summer, will be the last for the Golden Globe-winning Showtime drama.

Also returning is our favorite East End hostess with the mostest. East Hampton’s Ina Garten returns for the third season of “Barefoot Contessa: Cook Like a Pro.” Cheers to that. The Food Network show debuts on October 21. Topping that, there’s a special Thanksgiving episode in the lineup, featuring Jennifer Garner and Nigella Lawson, airing on November 17. We are already counting our blessings.

Whilst we’re listing things to be thankful for, we should definitely include Michael Consuelos, who has landed the role of young Hiram Lodge on “Riverdale.” Who better to portray the flashback version of his real-life dad’s villainous character, played by Mark Consuelos on the CW hit show.

And way to go Fred Savage! Ever since we first spotted the former child actor out here in the Hamptons back in 2016, we’ve seen and heard this guy everywhere. Savage is the commercial voice of Honda; has given life twice to animated characters Goober and Richie Osborne on Netflix’s “BoJack Horseman;” and he’s played Max Adler on “Friends from College,” which filmed a North Fork-based episode featuring what we assume were some actual vineyards, and most noticeably the McDonald’s parking lot in Riverhead. Hey Netflix, when is season two available? We’re waiting!

Other shows and movies with Savage acting in 2018 include “Modern Family,” “Bob’s Burgers,” “Robot Chicken” and “Super Troopers 2.” And now our favorite youngest Outstanding-Lead-Actor-In-A-Comedy-Series Emmy nominee is starring with comedian Ricky Gervais in ABC’s “Child Support,” a trivia show featuring kids and adults. All this wonderful work couldn’t go to a nicer guy. Kudos!
