Good News Gossip About Our Notable Friends And Neighbors

Ah, summer in the Hamptons. Forget the crowds, the traffic, and the sharks, for just a moment. At the end of the day, who doesn’t love a day at the beach?

We’ve had quite a spectacular season, with all sorts of exciting events, surprise celebrity sightings, and good old-fashioned fun. Art, fashion, filming, live performances, and a chance to beat the heat have brought famous faces here in droves this year.

Recently seen out and about Out East include Ben Affleck along with his much-hyped wife, Jennifer Lopez. The couple, who own a home in Water Mill, have been spotted all over the place while shopping, snuggling, cycling, and playing pickleball.

What could top that? In our opinion, there’s an even better break-the-internet pair that have turned up of late and we just love their low-key movie hang vibe. East Hampton’s Steven Spielberg and Amagansett’s Paul McCartney were snapped at the East Hampton movie theater while waiting in line for Oppenheimer at the end of last month. Apparently, the pair have been friends for decades. That’s cool.

And then there’s The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Christopher Briney, who turned up to cut a rug at Mulford Farm for Ralph Lauren’s big Dinner in the Hamptons. Amazing.

And we have to mention that Misty Copeland, Lauren Graham, Paulina Porizkova, Ryan Serhant, and Neil deGrasse Tyson all came to share their stories at Authors Night. Phenomenal. Others who have made the trip Out East this season include Jay-Z, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Paul Rudd, Billy Porter, Selena Gomez, Emma Roberts, and Julianne Hough, to name a few.

For those who aren’t fortunate enough to actually live on the East End, there’s always Bravo. The network frequently features our neck of the woods, and some fairly familiar faces, in its offerings.

Most recently, we’ve spotted Luanne de Lesseps on her newest show, Luann and Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake. The former Sag Harbor resident also served as a guest judge this season on Project Runway. Julia Fox, another oft-seen Hamptons habitue, also guest-starred on that program recently.

And then there are the de rigueur Real Housewives franchise annual trips to the Hamptons. That just happened in episode two, in the standard shocking fashion, of The Real Housewives of New York reboot. In addition to showing off the local scenery, viewers got a front-row seat to yet another room assignment spat, as well as insider views of the Sag Harbor houses of Erin Lichy and Jenna Lyons. As guilty pleasure as it all might be, we have to admit that it is fun to see inside the homes of these infamously feisty females.

Whilst on the subject, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention And Just Like That. In addition to having three out of the four OG series stars — Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall — all being East End residents at one time or another, season two also prominently features some big-time South Fork talent. Of note are Candice Bergen, formerly of East Hampton; Peter Hermann, currently of East Hampton; East End regular Mario Cantone; and Drew Barrymore of Sagaponack. That’s fun.

Then there’s the scenery that features our local talent. We’re super excited to share that Bridgehampton’s Alex Guarnaschelli has been green-lit for season two of Ciao House. The Food Network series, shot on-location in Tuscany, will resume production later this year. Yummy!

Lastly, another season has also been ordered for The Black Hamptons. That BET+ miniseries is currently in production and will pick up where it left off, with the Johnsons and the Brittons squaring off over real estate, money and social pecking order. Perfect.
