Gurney’s Star Island Resort in Montauk Opens For Business

Gurney’s brand new Star Island Resort in Montauk has opened for business for the 2019 summer season. According to Travel Weekly, the 107-room hotel offers 232 boat and yacht slips at their marina, four restaurants and bars under executive chef Jeremy Blutstein, and an artisanal ice cream shop.

Staying a night at the waterfront resort will cost at least $350 per night, but that price tag will afford lodgers access to pools, a private beach, and a shuttle service to Gurney’s original nearby Montauk property.

The location was once the Montauk Yacht Club Resort & Marina, which Gurney’s purchased in May of 2018 for around $60 million before putting about $13 million into renovations to bring the property up to date and rebrand. The purchase made Gurney’s the largest name in the hotel business on the East End of Long Island.
