Sagaponack Compound Once Owned by Sandy Gallin Sells for $19M

The incredible south-of-the-highway Sagaponack compound located at 266 & 300 Sagaponack Road in Sagaponack has just sold and closed for $18.5 million. Back in December of 2018, the 13.5-acre property came on the market for $24 million. Once owned by Emmy-winning talent manager Sandy Gallin, the compound includes two separate properties: one is host a 6,600-square-foot shingled home with five bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms, while the other offers an apple orchard, specimen trees and landscaping, and a pond spanning a full acre with a dock and a boathouse. Features of the main house also include a chef’s kitchen, entertaining space, multiple covered patios outside, and a fireplace in the outdoor sitting area. Both properties were represented by Douglas Elliman agent Eileen O’Neill, while Compass agent Lori Schiaffino brought the buyer. [Douglas Elliman]

Wainscott’s Kilkare is Selling for $27M

The historic Wainscott beach house affectionately known as Kilkare has found a buyer and is selling for $27 million, reports the New York Post. The home has become an icon of the East End: it was featured in the 2004 film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Last owned by Eleanora Kennedy, the home has only been owned by two families over its 143-year history. Kennedy purchased the home with her husband Michael in 1975; Michael is famous for representing Ivana Trump during her divorce from then-real estate mogul Donald Trump. Built in 1877 by ship carpenters, the house spans 6,500 square feet over 2.8 acres of oceanfront property, and offers views over Georgica Pond. According to the Post, it’s believed that the buyer is the same Wall Streeter that purchased the original Kilkare guest house back in 2001. In the original New York Times interview that Ms. Kennedy did when the house originally went up for sale in the summer of 2017, she said “that three types of buyers would vie for Kilkare: someone ‘who will love it the way it is,’ someone who will modernize, or ‘someone who will come with a wrecking ball.’” Bespoke Real Estate last represented the listing.
