Jerome Robbins’ Oceanfront Bridgehampton Home Sells For $12.5M

The oceanfront shingled cottage that was oncethe property of famed choreographer Jerome Robbins has sold and closed for$12.5 million. When it came on the market earlier this year in March, it wasthe first time that the property was available for sale in 40 years. Theco-creator of “West Side Story” owned the home up until his death in 1998, atwhich point the title was transferred to the Jerome Robbins Foundation. Sitedon an acre of oceanfront land, the existing cottage — originally built in 1950— has 1,100 square feet of living space, two bedrooms, and two and a halfbathrooms, plus a wraparound deck, a stone fireplace, and ocean views fromevery room. However, we’re thinking that the house is going to be torn down tomake room for a new-build. According to the Sotheby’s listing, zoning wouldallow for a home spanning up to 8,000 square feet in size.
