Historic Atterbury Estate in Southampton Finds a Buyer

Located south of the highway, the historic 14,000-square-foot estate designed by Grosvenor Atterbury at 199 Coopers Neck Lane has just found a buyer and is currently pending a sale.

The 1910 home most recently sold for $15 million in 2015 after listing four years earlier for a higher $20 million. In January of 2018 the 3-acre estate relisted for $18 million before eventually cutting its price down to $12.95 million, which is what it was most recently available for.

Features of the existing structure include 11 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, and a new wood shingle roof, while outside there’s a pool, a pool house, and a sunken tennis court.

During its time on the market in recent years, listings have shown total renovation plans — one even had plans to expand the already massive footprint up to over 15,000 square feet. But the most recent listing with Corcoran suggests that the “brick can be reused to create the perfect family room kitchen wing and result in an 8,000-9,000 sq ft home vs the current 15,000 sq ft plan.”

Corcoran Group agents Tim Davis and Thomas Davis represent the sellers.
