Iconic Atterbury Estate in Southampton Sells for $11.6M

A famed 14,000-square-foot home designed by local architect Grosvenor Atterbury back in 1910 has just sold and closed for $11.6 million after a year and a half on the market.

Last purchased in 2015 for $15 million, the house went back up on the market in January of 2018 for an ambitious $18 million. That price quickly came down until it hit $12.95 million in January of this year under Corcoran listing agent, Tim Davis. In April, the property went into contract, and the house finally sold for over $1 million less, according to Behind the Hedges

Located at 199 Coopers Neck Lane, the century-old home was in need of repairs and hadn’t had any interior photos available in its recent time on the market. Considering the work that needs to be done, we’re interested to see if it will be restored or torn down. The south-of-the-highway property spanning 3 acres is just a half-mile from Cooper’s Beach.
